Overview

Jefferies is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its Investment Banking Legal team in London. The successful candidate will have significant experience gained at a leading international law firm, financial institution or corporate. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-growing business with exposure to high-value, cross-border transactions.

Reporting Line

The Paralegal will report directly to the EMEA General Counsel and will play a key role in supporting the Investment Banking legal team in its day-to-day advisory and transactional work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of legal documents including: NDAs, adherence letters, non-reliance letters, destruction requests.
  • Providing day-to-day legal support and advice to the investment banking, corporate broking, and capital markets teams.
  • Assisting in the coordination and execution of legal processes across a wide variety of markets and products.
  • Supporting the administration and organisation of the Investment Banking Legal team, the e-billing team and the wider Legal function.

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience as a Paralegal in a top-tier law firm or financial institution.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A team player with initiative, commercial awareness, and attention to detail.
  • Beneficial to have knowledge of investment banking and capital markets transactions.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

  • Law degree (or equivalent) preferred.
  • At least 2–6 years’ experience as a paralegal in investment banking, capital markets, or corporate / contract law.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across global teams.
